MEMMINGER, Christopher(1803-1888) was an American politician and one of the founding fathers of the Confederate States. Memminger was the principal author of the Provisional Constitution of the Confederate States, as well as the founder of its financial system. As the Confederate States Secretary of the Treasury, he was the main author of the economic policies of the Jefferson Davis administration. Autograph Document Signed in text “C.G. Memminger” three times, pertaining to an estate settlement, 1pp. folio, 1871. Very good condition.
