Nichols (1821-1884), 4th Vermont Infantry, 2pp. octavo, Burnsville Station, Virginia, Head Quarters 6th Corps, April 13, 1865, and reads in part: “...We arrived here this afternoon with sore feet and lame legs...You probably have heard the news before this of the surrender of Gen. Lee. We all have a glorious time after his surrender. Everybody got drunk in the army now we are going to rest...” Fine condition.
