Pennock Huey (1828-1903) enlisted September 1861 as a captain in the 8th PA Cavalry, POW June 1864, paroled December 1864, promoted major, colonel and brigadier general by brevet March 1865. A. N. S., Philadelphia ca. 1870, reading, in part:: "In compliance with your request I will give you my military tittle as published in a book. I wrote giving some of the details of the operations of the Cav. at Chancellorsville under Genl. Hooker…Pennock Huey, finally Col. 8th Pa. Cav. & Bvt. Brig. Genl. U. S. V. (Commanding 2d Brid., 2 Div., Cavalry Corps, Gettysburg Campaign)." Mounted with archival repairs, else VG.
