War of 1812 Document Signed by John Gregory , 2pp. folio, December 29, 1814, Clay County, Kentucky, and reads in part: “...Know all men by these presents that I John Gregory of the County of Clay and State of Kentucky do by these presents make, ordain, constitute & appoint William M. Phelps of the County and state and my true and lawful attorney...to receive my pay for my server subsistance & private in Cptn Ambrose Arthur’s Company of Kentucky Militia in the 13th Regiment Commanded by Colo. William Dudley in the expedition to Fort Meggs and after...” More. Very good condition. Dudley's Defeat was an important battle during the War of 1812. The battle took place during the first siege of Fort Meigs.
