Nice pre-printed New York militiaman's enrollment form, 1p. oblong 8vo., [n. p.], Aug. 15, 1814, reading, in part: "…Elisha Farnham…Colonel of the 129th Regiment of…New York-to Richard Clavier…you are appointed Sergeant in Capt. Lehhens Caburns Company in my Regiment…you are therefore carefully and diligently to do the duty of a Sergeant…according to the rules and discipline of the Militia…". Signed and made official by Lt. Col. Elisha Farnham whose regiment served at Sackett's harbor, New York. With red wax seal at left, two stain spots, else VG.
