Group of 16 movie promotion items pertaining to “The Abyss,” a 1989 American science fiction film written and directed by Canadian director James Cameron, starring Ed Harris, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Michael Biehn. When an American submarine sinks in the Caribbean, the U.S. search and recovery team works with an oil platform crew, racing against Russian vessels to recover the boat. Deep in the ocean, they encounter something unexpected. The film was released on August 9, 1989, and grossed $90 million. It won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects and was nominated for three more Academy awards. Group includes eight (8) 10”x8” color images produced by Twentieth Century Fox, 1989, and eight (8) 14”x11” lobby cards, produced in 1989 by Twentieth Century Fox. Fine condition.
