A commemorative coin issue in honor of the Ninth Cavalry’s Band. A miners burro is surrounded with words, “NINTH U.S.A . A LIVE BAND FROM A LIVE REGIMENT" with the reverse showing only words, “Douglas Arizona, Copper City, of the Southwest” . The coin is 1-1/4” diameter, copper, fine. The coin was issued in 1914 by the Douglas Arizona Chamber of Commerce in honor of the Ninth Cavalry’s Band. John Philip Sousa’s band also played at the evnt.
