WALKER, James A. (1832-1901) was a Virginia lawyer, politician, and Confederate general during the American Civil War, later serving as a United States Congressman for two terms. He earned the nickname "Stonewall Jim" for his days as commander of the famed Stonewall Brigade.War-date Confederate Autograph Endorsement Signed "J.A. Walker" as Colonel of the 7th Brigade, September 22, 1862 on verso of "List of absentees" issued by W. S. Rankin, 21st NC Troops. Fine condition.
