Partially printed document from Captain James M. Garrett, Reserve Ordnance Train to Sergeant William D. Bell, Hanover Junction, Virginia, one page with docketing, 4to, Hanover Junction, Virginia, April 17, 1863. A note in the lower margin reads "W B, some of the above boxes delivered in March & some in April; all included in Property Return for First quarter 1863." The listing of goods received is "20 Packing Boxes (empty)" and "3 Boxes 12 pdr Howitzer Ammunition (damaged)." Signed "Wm D Bell ord sergt in charge Ord Depot A.N.V. Hanover Junction," VG. Bell, a South Carolinian with the Nitre and Mining Bureau, would make 1st Lieutenant before war's end, while Garrett obtained a staff position with Rhodes and lived to surrender at Appomattox.
