War-date Autograph Letter Signed “Jno. Miles” Surgeon & Med. Director, Medical Director’s Office, St. Louis, Missouri, May 31, 1862, addressed to Surgeon McGugin, and reads “...Surgeon D.L. McGugin, 3rd Iowa Cavalry, now on duty, in the Gen. Hos, 4th St. St. Louis, will assume general control of the Convalescent Hospitals Benton Barracks...” Countersigned by paymaster Johnson. Fine condition.
