War-date Letter Signed “Edwin M. Stanton” 1pp. quarto, War Department, Washington, March 30, 1865, addressed to Brevet Brigadier General N.L. Noah Lemuel Jeffries (1828-1896) Colonel and brevet brigadier general served with the 59th New York Infantry. He fought at Seven Pines and in the seven days battles near Richmond.
