Autograph Letter Signed George McCreary, 2pp. quarto, on War Deparment letterhead, September 16, 1879, requesting an investigation into the loss of funds in Franklin, Texas, April 6, 1865, “for which Major C.C. Clark, Additional Paymaster United States Army, was responsible and requesting to be informed what the charge will be...” Fine condition. Major Cyrus Curtis Clark, 1st Heavy Connecticut Artillery, 14th Connecticut Infantry and the US Vols Paymaster’s Dept, was WIA three times, at Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania Court House and Farmville.
