By Frederick Hoertz, 30” x 20” sight, in frame. It has a metal plaque, “MS Uddeholm, Swedish American Line.” MS Uddeholm was built in 1946 by the Swedish American Line and was a merchant cargo ship from 1946 until 1963. After 1963 she was sold to a Mexican shipping company and the ship sunk in 1977. Frederick J. Hoertz (1889 - 1978) was active/lived in Georgia, South Carolina. Frederick Hoertz is known for marine painting-sailing ships, lithography. Rarely see Hoertz’ original work. (former Rex Stark collection).
