Xerox pages show the exact item on page 157 of the reference book by Michael Friedman, “Cowboy Culture: The Last Frontier of American Antiques”. Here is that description, “A homemade primitive weapon incorporating a firearm and a knife. It required a fuse to ignite and could have been prison made. 19th Century. Collection: Michael Friedman.” The 5” x 4” piece is crude but certailny a one-off. (formerly from the Rex Stark collection.).
