LILLIE, Gordon William (1860-1942), known professionally as Pawnee Bill, was an American showman and performer who specialized in Wild West shows and was known for his short partnership with William "Buffalo" Bill Cody. Typed Letter Signed, “G.W. Lillie” on his “Pawnee Bill’s Oldtown” letterhead, March 29, 1933, 1pp., VG. In part, “mexican Joe says you have three yoke of Brahma cattle up there broke to work. if you care to sell these I would thank you to let me know by return mail what you would want for them, including yokes, chains, and also that big old-fashioned prairie schooner which these oxen used to pul with the show ...” ... plus, Typed Letter Signed, “G.W. Lillie” on his “Pawnee Bill’s Oldtown” letterhead, june 24, 1932, 1pp., VG. In part, “Mr. Vassar will be up Sunday with an order from me to take seven steers, the stage coach outfit, including mules and harness, and the two horses, one for fancy riding and the other a hazing horse.....”
