61 issues in this bound volume of Harper’s Weekly from November 21, 1863 to Dec. 31, 1864. These issues are chockful of text and art concerning the war. Several illustrations are by the famous artist, THOMAS NAST, who after the war would turn his pen to scathing political cartoons which foreshadowed the TAMMANY SCANDAL and BOSS WILLIAM TWEED. Also, a few WINSLOW HOMER illustrations.
