HAMLIN, Hannibal (1809-1891) was an American attorney and politician from the state of Maine. In a public service career that spanned over 50 years, he is most notable for having served as the 15th Vice President of the United States. Autograph Letter Signed, “H. Hamlin” written as Senator, February 13, 1874 to Elihu B. Washburne, 3” x 8”, regarding a bill, VG. Washburne was serving as United States Minister to France. Hamlin advises Washburne that he has submitted the bill that Washburne sent him.
