Manuscript diary kept by Katharine Atherton English, 1899-1902, with many President William McKinley entries, including his election, her grandfather calling on McKinley, and his being shot and death which reads in part: “...President McKinley was shot by an anarchist today while at the Buffalo Exposition...McKinley died at 215am. Bells were tolled and flags were at half mast this morning...President Roosevelt had an all night ride...and took the oath of office at Mr. Ansely Wilcox’s house at Buffalo...” Much more. Fine condition.
