HARDING, Warren Gamaliel (1865-1923) was the 29th President of the United States from 1921 until his death in 1923. At that time, he was one of the most popular U.S. Presidents, but the subsequent exposure of scandals that took place under his administration such as Teapot Dome eroded his popular regard, as did revelations of an affair by Nan Britton, one of his mistresses. In historical rankings of the U.S. Presidents, Harding is often rated among the worst. Typed Letter Signed “Warren G. Harding” as President, 1pp. quarto, July 6, 1921, addressed to Ambassador Herrick, in part: “...I hope you will find everything fittingly arranged for your arrival and that your resumption of diplomatic tasks will prove wholly agreeable in every way...” framed with Signed Photograph “To Herbert Wells Fay with fraternal greetings and very best wishes. Sincerly Warren G. Harding.” Framed. Fine condition.
