War-date Union soldier Autograph Letter Signed by W.H. Sterrett, Co. K, 31st Ohio Regiment, 2pp. folio, Louisville, Kentucky, September 29, 1862, with cover, and reads in small part: “...we left our knapsacks and tents back this side of Nashville and made forced marchs towards Louisville where we arrived day befor yesterday our tents and knapsacks were burnt. We had a chance to fight Bragg and I have no fears we could easily defeated him we were within two miles where he had drawn up his forces to receive us it being on Sunday. General Buell refused to let this army go. General Thomas and Buell had a quarrel and Thomas drew his sword on him. That night Bragg left...there has been a good deal murmuring against Buell and we have news this morning of his being relieved of his command...I am satisified he is a Traitor...” More. Very good condition.
