War-date Union soldier Autograph Letter Signed “P.J. Manbeck” 184th Pennsylvania, 3pp. octavo, Yorktown, Virginia, May 12, 1863, and reads in part: “...twelve or fifteen transports loaded with troops went past here to West Point about thirty miles distant from here and throwed up a kind of a fort there and I heard yesterday that they have it finished already and fourteen guns mounted and now they are at throwing up trenches around outside and last week came two regiments of General Stonemans cavalry here. They was o na reconnaiscence they was within two miles to Richmond and tored the rail road at Different places and burned some bridges and did cut Rebels communication off between Richmond and Fredericksburg and they only lost thirty men and one Lieut....Last week they brought fourteen Rebel prisoners in among which was one lieut...” Fine condition.
