Single music sheet, color printed, 5” x 8’, published by Charles Magnus, titled “The Soldier’s Funeral” written by John Ross Dix, shows a bearded soldier, wrapped in the flag andd laying on the bier. VG. John Dix or John Ross (1811-1863) was a British writer and poet in Great Britain and America. An alcoholic, he wrote a noted biography of Thomas Chatterton and he wrote "In Our Own Dear Homes Again" during the American Civil War.
