Group of three documents signed by Union generals, includes: TOTTEN, Joseph Gilbert (1788-1864) fought in the War of 1812, served as Chief of Engineers and was regent of the Smithsonian Institution and cofounder of the National Academy of Sciences. Document Signed “Jo. G. Totten” December 1835, New York. Fine condition....plus; WASHBURN Cadwallader Colden (1818-1882) was an American businessman, politician, and soldier who founded a mill that later became General Mills. A member of the Washburn family of Maine, he was a U.S. Congressman and governor of Wisconsin, and served as a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Document Signed “C.C. Washburn” September 1875 , Wisconsin, on The State Bank account. Fine condition...plus; HENRY, William Wirt (1831- 1915) was a manufacturer and a colonel in the Union Army during the American Civil War. He was a recipient of the brevet grade of brigadier general of volunteers and of the Medal of Honor for gallantry in action. Autograph Document Signed “Wm. W. Henry” June 1870, Charlotte C.H. Virginia. Being a financial document. Fine condition.
