An authentic issue of Gentleman’s Magazine, June 1767, 52pp., disbound, near fine. From the interior under Historical Chronicle, there is a brief report “A Jew was carried before Lord Mayor, charged with hawking hats for sale in this city contrary to law, which subjects all hawkers who presume to do so in any corporatoon to penalty of 12 pounds, or committed for certain time to hard labor in Bridwell. The fact being proved, security was given for the Jew’s appearance to answer the above charge before a Court of Judicature ...”
