He is the man who, in the fight at Bear’s Paw Mt., in 1877, went down into the caverns of the nez-perces a hostage, while Joseph and had his interview with Miles ... I saw only a few nez-perces in the basin, and I described one of them talking to a Crow Indian in sign language ... I shall be gald to assist in the formation of a museum in your city ... He is the son of the Captain Logan, 7th inftry, killed in the battle of Bighole, 1877 ...”Luther Sage "Yellowstone" Kelly (July 27, 1849 – December 17, 1928) was an American soldier, hunter, scout, adventurer and administrator.
