Horizontal image, “The Battle of Shilo, or Pittsburg Landing, April 6th & 7th 1862”, Ditson, 1862. A large battlefield image of hand-to-hand combat showing several victims on the ground. Interesting term used “Musically Photographed”. This took place in southwestern Tennessee and it was the first major battle to take place in the western theater of war.VG.
