“Charleston Harbor, East Face of Fort Sumter, #631” yellow mount, by George Stacy, NYC, 1865, minor hit to mount l/r corner. ... plus, “No. 320 Monitors, navy yard, Washington DC", by Kilburn Brothers, Littleton NH., slight stain on left image, VG ... plus, Anthony stereo of KIA Confederate with detail on the verso, “his View was taken the Southern Trenches, the morning after the storming of Petersburg, Va., April 2nd 1865, and shows a dead Southern Soldier who must have died instantly, his left temple and part of the head was carried away by a shell or solid shot, his blanket is across his breast, tied in the usual way, and his musket by his side, his rations lay scattered all around him. Half way up the side of the embankment is a foot passage, and the bottom of the Trench contains about 2 feet of water. Our Union Soldiers had to charge across these works.”
