BOYINGTON, Gregory "Pappy" (1912-1988) was an American combat pilot who was a United States Marine Corps fighter ace during World War II. He received both the Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross. In later years, Masajiro "Mike" Kawato claimed to have been the pilot who shot down Boyington. Signed photograph, B/W 8” x 10”, “Pappy Boyington” and “masajiro Kawato” with a note by Kawato “Japanese WWII ace, 19 victories, shot down Col. Greg “‘Pappy Boyington’”.
