Pair of partly-printed Confederate Quartermaster Department documents, both oblong folio, in which Confederate army quartermaster department agent, Major Robert Pleasant Archer accounts for carpenters, wheelwrights, blacksmiths, helpers, and washer women under his care at Richmond at the end of the war in March 1865. All these most likely Black men and women laborers, sign with their mark as an "X" including those named, John Richardson, "helper," Sam Jackson, "teamster" and Martha Smith "washer." Both documents are VG with negligible margin tones, else VG. (2 documents)
