Carte de visite of Henry Bond, with Whipple of Boston backmark. Henry Bond enlisted on May 26, 1862 as private in the Boston Cadets, he mustered into the 45th Mass Infantry in September 1862 and was commissioned as adjutant in the 20th Mass Infantry in October 1863. He was mortally wounded in action at Wilderness on May 6, 1864 and died of wounds on May 14, 1864.
