E, "McNeil's Ranger" 18th Virginia Cavalry who killed in October 3, 1864 in a failed raid upon a Union cavalry camp near Mount Jackson, Va. He died just over a month later at Hill's Hotel, Harrisonburg, Va. Bust view published by Selby & Dulany, Baltimore. Clipped corners, else VG.
