LEADBETTER, Danville (1811-1866) CSA Brigadier General who oversaw the construction of defenses at Mobile, planned Bragg's lines at Chattanooga, and accompanied Longstreet to Knoxville. No record of his parole exists and he is recorded as fleeing to Mexico then Canada. Manuscript Document Signed "D. Leadbetter" 1p. small quarto, March 4, 1861, Mobile, being a receipt for supplies and signed as Commander of Fort Morgan and Alabama State Troops just prior to the outbreak of the War. Fine.
