War-date Confederate soldier Autograph Letter Signed by Lt. William J. Terry, 5th Texas Volunteer Infantry, KIA White Oak Swamp , 2-1/2pp. quarto, on fine Confederate States of America "REMEMBER SUMPTER, BETHEL & MANASSAS" lettersheet, datelined The Army of the Potomac, December 3, 1861, and reads in part: "...I have had the measels very bad and stayed in the hospital in Richmond one month but I am now in camp...we are stationed here on the Potomac in the twenty four miles of Washington City. We are erecting batteries all along the river. The boys have their own fun shooting at little boats as they go up and down the river. We have stopped all big vessels from traveling...Direct your letters to Richmond Va to apt F.C. Rogers Co. 5th Texas Reg of Vol..." Fine condition.
