Manuscript Document Signed, "Peter Brunan" Capt. Commanding, Co. F. 61st Regt. Geo. Vols, 1p. quarto, itemizing an account of rifles, muskets, caps, cartridges, cartridge boxes and bayonets received on October 13, 17, and December 10, as well as rifles and muskets lost in action on December 13th which was the date of the battle of Fredericksburg. Fine. The 61st Georgia Infantry fought gallantly with the Army of Norther Virginia from the Seven Days Battles to Cold Harbor, then was involved in Early's Shenandoah Valley operations and the Appomattox campaign. The regiment lost 114 men at Sharpsburg, 100 at Fredericksburg and 111 at Gettysburg. Among the killed at Gettysburg was the signer of this document PETER BRENAN, who had been promoted to major in March 1863. At Gettysburg, the 61st Georgia Infantry, was part of the Brigade of General John B. Gordon.
