Partly-printed Document Signed, 1p. oblong folio, being a "Requisition for Clothing", November 17, 1864, ordering Maj. H.T. Massengale, Post Quartermaster, to provide for "Paroled Prisoners in need of clothes". Issued are 9 jackets, 9 pants, 9 shirts, twelve drawers, 8 pairs of shoes and one cap. Each of the men have signed as having received various articles. Records for nine of the men have been located and they are: Sgt. Louis KING, Co. G, 2nd NC WIA at Malvern Hill, Captured at Kelly's Ford and sent to Pt. Lookout, exchanged on November 1, 1864. He fought at Chancellorsville. Priv. W. A. JONES, Co. B, 57th NC. Captured at Fisher's Hill and sent to Pt. Lookout and exchanged October 30, 1864. Priv. F.L. MAY, Co. H, 5th NC. Captured during the Bristoe Campaign at Culpepper Court House and sent to Pt. Lookout. He also fought at Gettysburg. Priv. Wyatt MARKS, Co. H. 27th VA. WIA at Chancellorsville, captured at Spotsylvania Court House and sent to Ft. Delaware. Transferred to Pl. Lookout and exchanged 10/31/1864. Priv. James W. McNEIL, Co. F, 5th VA. WIA at Fredericksburg and captured near Spotsylvania Court House. Sent to Ft. Delaware and later to Pt. Lookout. Exchanged 10/30/1864. Priv. Henry PAINTER, Co. E, 5th VA. Captured at Spotsylvania Court House and sent to Ft. Delaware and then to Pt. Lookout. Exchanged on 10/31/1864. Priv. Robert HEMSLEY, Co. H, 42nd VA. Served at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg; captured near Spotsylvania Court House and sent to Elmira Prison and then to Pt. Lookout. Exchanged 10/11/1864. Priv. George SHELTON, Co. H, 42nd VA. Captured near Spotsylvania Court House and sent to Elmira then transferred to Pt. Lookout. Exchanged 10/24/1864. Priv. Wiggs BLACKMAN, Co. H, 2nd NC. Fought at Antietam and Fredericksburg; WIA left arm which was amputated and captured at Winchester. Sent to Pt. Lookout and exchanged 10/31/1864.
