HUNTER, David (1802-1886) Union general, abolished slavery in the Department of the South in March, 1862 and burned some buildings at the Virginia Military Institute in 1864. Presided at the trial of the Lincoln conspirators. A small printed pass, approximately 2-½"x3", for admission to the trial of the Lincoln conspirators, signed "D.Hunter" very nice bold signature. Fine.
