A great war-date Confederate general's letter, 1. 4to., by Major General Patrick R. Cleburne (secretarially), "Head Quarters Cleburne's Divs., Tunnel Hill, [Ga.], Decr. 4, 1863", written to Col. George William Brent, as a.a.g., Army of Tennessee, reading, in part: "A gentleman from Graysville…states that in the creek, this side of the town, is a caisson and limber…it is said by the citizens that two pieces of Artillery are also in the Creek. This Gentleman says there are no Yankees anywhere in the vicinity…it would be well to send and try to recover the artillery…P. R. Cleburne, Maj. Genl." Expected folds, else VG.
