A great war-date manuscript, 3pp. folio, "Commissioners Court" document, Perry Co. Alabama, Feb. 6, 1863, being a list of Confederate volunteers who left from Plantersville Precinct for military service compiled by a certain T. S. Driskell, Feb. 6, 1863, reading, in small part: "To the Hon. commissioners court of Perry County…I hand you a list of the volunteers from Plantersville Precinct in the Confederate States service…some of them lived near the line of the precinct…the indigent families…of absent volunteers [are] two. Joseph Harrods family to consist of his wife, a daughter sixteen years, one four years and a boy two years old. She says if she can get something to eat she can make clothing. 5$ per mo. she thinks be sufficient for her. Thos. Jackson left a wife, a boy 3 mo. old. Harrod & Jackson both went from Bibb County near the line…but their families are now in this precinct…". The list then follows in very small part: Number volunteers from Plantersville…in Magnolia Cadets, Capt. Dawson, Co. C, 4th Reg. Ala. Vols. left April 1861…Francis Peeples…J. C. Friday [WIA Wilderness, Va., 5/6/64]…Martin Stokes…in Cahaba Valley Boys, Capt. Cobb, 10th Regt. Ala…John D. Davis…Wm. H. Oden…in Phoenix Reds, Capt. Dedman…20th Regt. Ala…left Sept. 1861…Wm. Meriwether…Wm. Milling left in June 62…in Bibb Greys, Capt. Davidson…11th Regt. Ala. Vol. left in May 1861 Jno. Leopard…in Bibb Rifles, Capt. Gardner…Joseph Harrod. Reported to have died…T. S.
