A good war-date, pre-printed, 2pp. folio, Confederate tax document, "Abstract of Assessment" for 1863 for Bibb County, Alabama tax is assessed on the county's "white males between 21 and 60 years of age while the number of slaves are broken into various age groups from infants to those that "are unsound." Amazingly, over 3200 slaves are listed as opposed to just 328 white men between the ages of 21 and 60. Signed and made official by Judge of Probate, Jackson Gardner on April 15, 1864. very minor toning, else VG.
