Rare "FREEDOM NOW" lapel pin display with twelve intact pins with African-American hand holding a torch. Slogan at top reads "Show Your Badge of Courage." Each pin is 1/2"x1", overall display is 5-1/4"x8-1/2". c.1963 Fine condition. The Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) is an African-American civil rights organization in the United States that played a pivotal role for African Americans in the Civil Rights Movement. Founded in 1942, its stated mission is "to bring about equality for all people regardless of race, creed, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion or ethnic background."
