Period copy cabinet card photograph of General Robert E. Lee in his Confederate uniform. Called the "Unbuttoned coat in-the-field" photograph made from the original 1863 Minnis & Cowell negative. Circa 1880. Cook front mark and "Geo. S. Cook Successor to D.H. Anderson, Richmond, Va." on verso. Cook, in buying the negatives and businesses of other Richmond photographers, amassed the most complete collection of photographs in one studio. Some light staining ,else very good condition.
