A., Quartermaster's Department, Richmond, Va., Sept. 24, 1862," to Major Henderson Moffett Bell, at Staunton, Va., reading, in full: "The Secretary of War has forbidden the transportation of the remains of deceased officers & soldiers at the expense of the Government…D. H. Wood, Capt. & a. q. m." Removed from the military document scrap album archive of Confederate Brig. Gen. Henry B. Davidson. A bit wrinkled, else VG.
