Revolutionary War Bond, Document signed "Elijah Robinson", and "James Chamberlain' June 24, 1769" x 14", preprinted, laid paper, fine. In part, "Elijah Robinson of Stafford & James Chamberlain of Tolland, both in the county of Hartford ... in the sum of Three Thousand Pounds ... Elijah Robinson is appointed Pay master to his own company .... for the purpose of enlisting the soldiers in, and paying the company .... to join the Continental Army in Canada ...."Elijah Robinson; 'Lexington Alarm,' ten days. Captain in Gen. Spencer's 2nd Regiment, 1775; April and May were spent marching around Boston; its post was at Roxbury and the disbanding was Dec. 19, 1775. In State Regiment in Northern Department, under Colonels Mott and Swift, June-July, 1776, stationed at Ticonderoga and vicinity (Col. Mott's Battalion). Captain in Col. Ely's State Regiment, June, 1777. Capt. Elijah Robinson's Company in 1778, engaged for three months; arrived in camp, June 29, 1778.James Chamberlain; served as a Captain during the American Revolution. He served under Col. Morris Graham and was a 1st Lieutenant under Capt. Joshua Lasell and Col. David Southerland with the 6th Regiment of the Duchess Co. Militia.
