This Hand-Colored Stone Lithograph in the style of Currier & Ives titled, "JAMES MONROE. 5th President of the United States." measures about 11" x 14.25". Unsigned, this Portrait is believed issued by Nathaniel Currier. This Lithograph is undated with no mark of the lithographer or publisher. Image shows President Monroe seated in an armchair at a draped table holding papers. There is a dark blue drape held by a golden cord behind mostly obscuring a pillar. The hand-coloring is rich and warm and the Lithograph has no soiling, foxing or staining. An excellent example for display.
