Blade about 6 ¾" long and die stamped "Edward Barnes & Sons" on knife at handle. In an English Sheffield location, Edward Barnes was joined by his sons in business in 1845. The business ceased operating by 1888. Apparently, the company concentrated on the American Export market. This knife size was fairly typical UK Bowie knife length. Sheath although missing metal tip has a gold embossed portrait of a Taylor in uniform and under that the name "Old Zack". Rare knife. Extra fine condition.
