KENNEDY, John F. (1917-1963) 35th U.S. president. U.S. Congressman (1947-1961) defeated Nixon in the 1960 election, by a popular vote of 49.7% to 49.5%. During his administration the country went through the Bay of Pigs Invasion, the Berlin Crisis, the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Twenty-third Amendment was ratified. He was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963Typed Letter Signed, "John Kennedy" 1pp. quarto, United States Senate, December 8, 1953, addressed to Phil Tippin, National Concert and Artists Corporation, and reads in small part: "...I certainly appreciate your writing me about the possibility of arranging some lecture engagements for me, however, I feel that I should remain in Washington during the next session of Congress as so many vital issues will be under consideration at that time..." Fine condition.
