Being a Pay Order, reads in full; "Andover fourth Parish East District April 2, 1781 / To Capt. John Abbot (1704-1793) Treas. for Sd. District. Pay to Mr. Joseph Holt Twenty Nine Silver Dollars or other Current Money equivalent there to it being for money Advanced to pay soldiers 29 Dollars." This Document is signed by “Mosses Abbot / Timothy Abbot / John Abbot Jr.” Docketed on reverse and Signed by “Joseph Holt” in receipt of funds.
