August 20, 1785, Engraved Portrait of French Politician Francois Felix De Crillon, Published by J. Fielding, London, Engraved by Birrell, Fine. Original Engraved Portrait measures 7.5” x 4.5” being a Plate or Frontispiece from a period British magazine. Francois Felix de Crillon (1748-1820), was a French Politician who in 1788, acquired the palace where, in 1778, the official signing of the first Treaties between the newly-founded United States and France took place. This building is now known as the Hotel de Crillon, one of France’s oldest luxury hotels. An exceptional quality engraved portrait of French Politician De Crillon.
