Confederate soldier's letter written and signed by William J. Lowry who 4/9/1862 mustered into "B" Co. NC 45th Infantry and was Killed on 7/2/1863 at Gettysburg, PA. Letter date lined Camp Lee near Richmond, to his mother, May 22, '63, 2pp. In small part, "... we left Kinston last Wednesday and arrived here last night ... I do not know where we will go, to Fredericksburg or not ... I fear we we are going to see hard times now. ... remain your affection son until death. W.J. Lowry."
