PHYSICK, Edmund (1726-1804). An Englishman, resident in Philadelphia, and previous to the outbreak of the revolution, Keeper of the Great Seal of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and such was officially associated with the Proprietaries of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Government thereof. He was the father of Philip Syng Physick, who was reputed to be the first great American surgeon. Document Signed 1 page. 7 ½" x 3 ¼". Philadelphia, Aug. 17, 1773. Physick acknowledges receipt of "twenty-five pounds 2/6 currt. Mondy of Pennsylvania, in lieu of Fifteen pounds…per 300 acres of land on the west side…" Fine.
